Voices in the void (2021)

Tells the story of the Melchior family in occupied Denmark in 1943 and their escape to Sweden, thanks to the assistance of their Danish compatriots, particularly clergy and fishermen.

Pushed to the brink, theirs is a story of rescue, return, and compassion. The 14-year-old son,   Bent Melchior , later became Chief Rabbi of Denmark.

דורקה שטרנברג

דורקה נולדה בעיר צ'נסטחובה שבפולין בשנת 1924. בילדותה הייתה תלמידה ברשת החרדית לבנות 'בית יעקב'. עם תום המלחמה הצטרפה לתנועת 'דרור', במסגרתה החלה להיות מדריכה בבית ילדים יהודים, לקראת עלייתם לא"י. בשנת 1950 סיימה את שליחותה, עלתה לארץ והייתה ממייסדות קיבוץ לוחמי הגטאות.
